Molasses Cookies (grandma's recipe)

Instructions:

Use mixer to mix shortening, eggs, brown sugar, and molasses thoroughly

Blend all dry ingredients (whisk)

Add blended dry ingredients slowly into wet and mix

Let batter chill (at least 2 hours, overnight is best)
When ready to bake:

Heat oven to 375°

Roll Dough in 1 1/4 in balls and dip tops in sugar

Place balls sugared side up, 3" apart on greased baking sheet

Sprinkle each with 2 or 3 drops of water

Bake 8-10 minutes, just until set but not hard
